the video call comes without warning, because any lead up via text could ruin the surprise if he isn't careful. besides, he actually is curious to see how she'll react to this. this, in this case, being him dressed in something entirely different to the norm.
sure, he may often dress over the top, but he's not really gone for something like this before. plus, he's nervous for a number of reasons and some reassurance would actually go a long way.
even if part of the nerves is for thinking of doing something like this to begin with. toeing a line that shouldn't probably be crossed, but it's so very close to it.
so, whenever castorice does answer the video call she'll find him leaning back on his couch, wearing a green dress similar to this but not as low cut. he's doing a good job of hiding said nerves though, instead the angle of the camera is fixed to show himself off. one leg is crossed over the other, showing off the slit along his leg and where the hold ups are snug against his skin. }
I hope I'm not interrupting anything important, { actually anything else can wait, clearly- } but I wanted a second opinion. What do you think? You can be honest.
[ For the record, Castorice wasn't doing anything too important before his call. Just spending some time with Mydei before having a much more important conversation with Aglaea.
But that does mean she does have to detangle herself from him in order to grab her phone. A little reluctantly, because she can truly never get enough hugs, but she's not about to ignore Aventurine.
When she answers, she looks calm. At ease. Very much her usual self. ]

There's the sound of a door shutting, a light switch being flicked, before she finally holds the phone up to actually process his outfit. And in turn, he can see her blush, a deep gold that spreads from her cheeks to the tips of her ears. ]
Sorry... [ for uh. for all of that. But she takes a breath before finally giving him a (verbal) answer: ] It, um. Looks good on you.
{ he laughs, sharp at first then a little breathy as the video spins and becomes a black screen for a moment as it lands on the floor. }

he doesn't seem to mind that she was with someone anyway, this was a risk he'd already known when starting the call. but the teasing tone does drop now she moves to lift her phone, when her face comes back on the screen. he shifts to rest his chin on his hand. }
